Time for this week’s fintech roundup! AML and Fraud are high on the list for European Regulators, with the EU commission putting forwards a new approach to money laundering and terrorist financing, with a six pillar action plan. Across the pond in the US the focus on fraud is also high - with Bloomberg Tradebook taking home a $5 million USD fine for fraudulent routing. The Swiss are sensing a new segment in banking: the Mass Affluent - with digital bank Alpian playing in to that market. On the other end of the spectrum, democratised financial services provider Revolut has announced it may enter what it calls a ‘consolidation’ phase where it will potentially scoop up some struggling competitors in the market. Money was rolling this week with trading platform RobinHood securing a hefty $280 million USD and German Challenger Bank N26 rolling home with another $100 million in it’s pockets - despite all the current uncertainties! Smaller rounds were also to be enjoyed by Banked and askRobin, who took home 2.7 and 1.7 million euro respectively. A comforting thought to leave you with: UBS thinks fintech revenues will hit $500 Billion by 2030.
